Church History
Bethel Missionary Baptist Church began on April 18, 1982, in the living room of Pastor James Porter's home at 3734 Reisterstown Road. In attendance was his wife, Sis. Catherine Porter, their 6 kids, The White family, Sis. Rosa Williams, The Jones family, and Rev Richmond.
The 2nd service was held on April 25, 1982, at Travelers Rest Baptist Church at 3500 Edmondson Avenue where the Rev. Albert Harrison served as Pastor. The service began at 8:00am and continued there until we relocated to 1031 N. Calhoun Street on November 28, 1982. We fellowshipped & worshiped there until January 1990.
Our current building was just a one house church until February 13,1999 when 3703 was purchased. The 2 addresses combined into 3701 Park Heights Avenue on December 17, 2006.
Church Motto
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love - 1 John 4:7-8
